Help Section:
What is 4/1 vs. 4/4 printing?
4/1 (“four over one”) is color printing on one side with black-and-white print on the reverse side of the paper. This is our standard printing mode for most inserts and booklets.
For tray cards, 4/0 or 4/1 are the usual standards. By ordering your jewel cases with clear trays, your 4/1 tray card will show through when the disc is removed from the jewel case.
You can also order your package with 4/4 (“four over four”) printing. This is 4-color printing on both sides of the pages and tray card. Although it increases the cost slightly, the pro look of your jackets, booklets, tray cards and inserts will attract the eye better, so your project will stand out even more and will look like most 'national release' packages.
What is the difference between inserts vs. booklets?
Inserts are folded; booklets are stapled and can have many more pages for pictures and information. Six-page and larger inserts unfold to look like a nice brochure or poster, while booklets tend to be the printed lit choice on major releases. Either way, be sure to add plenty of info and lyrics... your public wants to know all about you!
Should I send photos to use for my layout?
We highly recommend that you acquire scans of all photographs and send electronic versions rather than the physical photos. If you do want to send a photo for us to scan, please don't send your only copy. Make backups of everything!
Please be aware that we print exactly what you send to us. All text must be already in electronic form so that we don't need to key any text. Double-check your text for spelling and correct meaning before sending it to us.
